Outreach

The goal is to compel people to want to know about Space…compel them to want to learn about it on their own…to make it so interesting that they take time in their day to learn about it [Neil deGrasse Tyson]

My very hometown, Panzano, hosted the work two of the most prominent italian astronomers of the past, Gian Domenico Cassini and Geminiano Montanari. I have collaborated with the talented graphic designer Alberto Lot, local Pro Loco and Righini Family to commemorate and promote the development of Astronomy from the 17th century to the more recent findings (event coverage in a local newspaper).

Astronomy in the City

As part of the Institute for Astrophysics and Space research at the University of Birmingham, I actively partecipate to the numerous outreach events organised by our research group, and in particular I organise Astronomy in the City. During these evenings, visitors have the chance to hear about recent discoveries in Astronomy and to try hands-on the thrill of observing the night sky as real astronomers, by visiting the University Observatory. astro_city_logo_2020
